I disagree, Unknown is a fine storyteller and his characters are very compelling. Each of his entries had me at the edge of my seat and made me want more, and i'm very sure that other deviants would say the same.
Black Lillian is a fine storyteller too and her work with details is amazing. I find it a shame though that Unknown-person is...how can I put it....'looked down on' cause he presents his work in animations and won the Endzone compeition, (The same can be said for Zeural) I feel that because of that win he won't really be allowed to win again in other OCT's.
But like I said before, this is all in my opinion.
And sorry for posting this reply on your profile page, but I just didn't want to spam Zeural's.
Unknown is looked down on? Bullshit. The man's got a veritable battalion of fans. He made it to the finals, for fuck's sake. He'll win the minute he quits using fancy animation as an excuse for shoddy story. Karl is unoriginal, plain and simple. Ooooh! A gentlemen killer! Not like we haven't seen THAT done a million times. Zeurel? His plots are unoriginal. Animation's good. Characters uninspired and bland (ooh, guy with an evil alter-ego! Evil German genius! HOW INSPIRED). Plot limited.
These men have ridden on aesthetic appeal, and it's finally worn off.
They lost fairly, so quit blaming it on judging.

I agree that there's no bias against *Unknown-person, and that his story and characters can be a little unoriginal at times.
However, his dialogue and execution is often laugh-out-loud funny, his animations show a great amount of skill, and he is very respectful to his opponents, interweaving their storyline with his, which is why he does so well. You don't seem to think much of him at all, and blame his success entirely on some sort of brainwashing quality that you think flashes have, so I just thought I'd highlight why I at least love his work. Unfortunately for him, BL did all that and more this time.
I don't understand your venom when dealing with the people who subscribe to the "ANTI-VETERAN PLOT!!1!", either. ~Zee390 just offered her opinion, in a moderate way, I might add - no need for the snark.

I'm sick of people whining like this. That's why. I think very little of UP because his stories are subpar. I don't appreciate the fact that he wins based on flash. Hell, he should have lost against Chimbley in Round IV. And probably to Del in Round III. I'm a writer. For me, story is everything. Would you consider 300 better than Gladiator? Of course not.

Thanks goodness I moved this from his frontpage, or you would've been swarm with hate. Not that i'm guessing you care.
Animation is just as much as an artform as traditional pencil and ink drawings, and animation takes a very long time to work with. Him being able to create something so lush like that in the short amount of time he had is nothing but incredible.
I did say that I wasn't sure how to put the words, and I believe the judging was a bit biased. Also Karl isn't just a 'gentleman killer' he's a carnival decoration statue who was driven mad by human's fear and greed. This is what i've collected so far. You have to look more into it then just the outer appearance to take in a character.
Flash? Flash is idiotic. Do you know what the main thing that judges take a look at is? STORY. No amount of fancy-pants animation can make up for story deficiency. The issue is that many judges tend to see OOH PRETTY and ignore the abysmal story content. These didn't. Neither Unknown nor Zeurel is a fucking victim of ANYTHING but their own failure. Neither is a martyr. Pull your head out of your ass and ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THEY LOST FAIRLY. They don't need you fighting their fucking battles for them.

As a writer, you should know that a bad storyline can be forgiven if it is executed skilfully.
